Hi! As you may have noticed, I love unboxing! The process just helps me remember each item that I receive and I just enjoy talking about the products, learning about the companies that put out these products, and the photography aspect is something I love.
This season’s Alltrue box is full of useful goodies! If you missed my previous unboxing, Alltrue is “committed to delivering delightful goods made fairly and sustainably by brands doing their part to better the world.”
I love Alltrue because they introduce me to brands that are normally not well known but are truly worth supporting! I’ve never heard of any of the brands that are featured in this month’s box so I’m really excited to get to know more about them.
What’s in the box?
๐ฎ๐ณAccompany Jute Welcome Mat, artisan-made with 100% jute natural fibers sourced in Calcutta – $38 value
I was really excited about this one because it just looks so gorgeous! This project also helped sustainably employ 227 artisans at the Craft Boat Artisan Collective, a cooperative with a focus on gender equity and women’s empowerment in Bhansko, Rajasthan, providing consistent employment through India’s second wave of COVID-19.
๐ฅTease Smart Heated Mug with lid & golden spoon – $65 value
I was particularly curious how well this would work because I’ve been wanting an Ember mug (a similar more well-known product) for a while, and I really liked that it came in a dark green color because it matched the colors for the company I work at and I was planning to bring it in to the office.
The heating function works well enough for the first hour but it seems that the longer my tea stayed in the warmer, a clear film (kind of like when oil rises to the surface) rises on top which made my tea look unappealing and thus undrinkable.
I’m going to give it another chance and put it in the dishwasher and maybe that will remove the coating on the inside wall of the mug? Hopefully it works out, I’d hate for it to go to waste!
With every order at Tease, a portion supports their community enrichment programs to elevate women founders. Their sister organization, Founder’s Fund, provides funding directly to underrepresented women founders.
๐Headbands of Hope, set of 2 floral print knotted headbands – $35 value
The headbands reminded of what Blair Waldorf used to wear on Gossip Girl – they have that cool retro/vintage feel with really cute floral prints & bold colors.
I was really touched and inspired reading about how Jess Ekstrom started the business. In her own words:
You shouldn’t have to choose between making a living and making a difference. You can do both at once.
Jess Ekstrom, founder and owner of Headbands of Hope
For each headband sold, one is donated to a child with an illness. To date, Headbands of Hope have donated 950,130 headbands around the world.
๐ฆMolly’s Suds set of 3 natural wool dryer balls – $ 14 value
I’ve never used wool dryer balls before so I was curious to see what the use of them are. Honestly, I just appreciate that it comes in this cute drawstring bag that feels like a flour cloth. It was very easy to use and I was excited to use them when I put my bulky blankets in the dryer. I can’t tell you if it worked or not, but let’s say it did!
Molly’s Suds mission is to deliver safer household cleaning products to your home. These dryer balls are made with 100% mule sing-free New Zealand wool from sheep raised on registered family farms and are Certified Cruelty-Free by Leaping Bunny.
๐Mintbiology seaweed collagen gold eye masks – $35 value
I have been slacking on my skincare routine on Friday nights so I have yet to try these on but I’m looking forward to it! These are actually cruelty-free and vegan so that’s great news. In fact, you know what, I’ll grab a set now and put it on, I’ll try to remember and give an update on what I think of them later.
๐ฅญHuna Nourish skin nutrition balm vegan – $80 value
With so many nourishing natural ingredients, it’s no wonder that this skin balm truly works. It has the consistency of petroleum jelly so it can feel a little greasy (I recommend using it only at night before bed) but it smells amazing, the most noticeable smell for me is a subtle hint of mango.
This is also a vegan variant of their skin nutrition balm which is normally made with beeswax, but substituted with candelila wax.
The Huna Story is also an admirable one – founder Heather Urquhart who is a botanist, herbalist, passionate gardener and plant-lover, began growing 6 basic botanical ingredients at a 138-acre family acreage in southeastern Manitoba. Today, Huna grows their own botanicals – over 30 unique species of skin-healing, skin-regenerating, and skin-loving botanicals – for exclusive use in Huna skincare in what they lovingly call the “Huna Homestead.”
Thank you for unboxing with me!
Ohh, that looks like so much fun! You should bring some of the stuff for movie night and let us all try it!
Okay!! I will make sure to bring enough sets of eye masks for us all, anything else I should bring on the list??
maybe the skin balm! Barb might like that!
I could use some dryer balls that are made with 100% mule sing-free New Zealand wool. Whatever that is.
there are just so many responses to this but I’m a lady.
