I went to my first Halloween costume party…

Last Saturday, one of my friends hosted her first Halloween party. Incidentally, it was also the first Halloween costume party I’ve ever gone to.

I dressed as a black cat. And not quite on purpose, I came in a black car (my car would not start so I had to borrow my dad’s car).

There were several people and everyone dressed up: a vampire, Joker, a white lady, a banshee, Grim Reaper, a bat lady… and the winner of the night was a headless figure.

My friend really went all out. Her whole house was dark and decorated. Bats, spiders, spiderwebs, skeletons – you name it, she had it. She also prepared quite the menu. Blood stew was the most popular dish of the night.

For drinks, we had a choice between virgin blood and Bloody Mary… in these blood bags!

We played a few games, one team against another. My team won twice (not with much of my help, mind you!) They were party games I somehow have not played before. Losers had to eat worms (real fried worms) or be the worms (crawl underneath the winners while they were standing). I was thinking it would be those gummy worms but I ended up having to crawl when I found out.

It was a fun packed night. I didn’t know most of the people, and that made it even better. I got to interact with new people and see new faces. By the end of the night (or early morning), I was so tired and was starting to fall asleep on one of the couches. When I left at 1 am, I was still the first one who left the party.

Did anyone dress up for Halloween this year or are you planning to dress up?

  1. You are so cute! Wear your costume on Thursday! I don’t dress up because no one comes up my horribly long driveway through the deep dark woods! And besides, I’m always a witch, you know.
